week 6. tutorial.

paper stock chosen and prososed idea for the packaging of the magazine. * a material cover almost to the tone of an example shown in one of julia's books. it is to look scattered but to a professional standard. the colour of brown material was chosen, but both can be made into examples and the choice of printing is still being researched for the cover packaging. *screen printing*transfer printing...any good ideas post them a.s.a.p.
the idea of having a paper bag was also proposed and the style of bags have been put up on the forum as a link, these are recycled paper/cardboard also.

layouts were presented and most were up to scratch. but keep working on the finer details!
the flow and structure of the magazine was not completed but will be refine in week 7 so have those layouts done!

if anyone has any ideas or the branding and launch team, please help them out - go to their forum and start inputting.


due week 7;

Exercise 6:
– students to complete a cover design based on the design criteria established by each team. The online team is to complete a promotional package using the design criteria established by the online team.
Each design will be displayed in the BJ common are in week 7 for critique, and will be considered as a candidate for the final outcome.

everyone needs to refine their ideas for the cover's and hand them in on wed's for submission. dont forget to download the feedback form for the cover designs from webCT.

AND MOST IMPORTANT!!!All student payments should be finalised by this point in the semester so that the costing of the print and production run budgets can be effectively estimated. there is a link on the forum to find out the methods of payment so DO IT NOW!
