Image Guide
Hey guys
Just a quick note on what sort of images we are looking for in the articles.
We have collectively ruled out any conceptual images, meaning any images that do not show or portray a literal meaning through there compositional structure or content, e.g. abstract illustration or photography.
For consistency reasons we are looking to use contextual images throughout the magazine therefore images that have a distinguished relationship between their composition and content in relation to the ideas and messages conveyed in your article. These sort of images may include casual photos of people and places, making an effort to ensure the photos do not look to composed or staged. As with illustration, make sure your drawings or whatever medium you use contain imagery that relate to your article, however try and minimize over ornate illustrations unless entirely necessary.
Colour is an important aspect of the imageries success in delivering its message so choose colours that will add to your illustrations in a positive way whilst still conveying the tonal and emotive feel of your article.
Cheers guys,
